Happy Funtime Movie Blog

Watching movies is our business, and business is good

About Us

Welcome to Mike and Sara’s Happy Funtime Blog.  We are life long friends that met back in the rough playgrounds of elementry school and have been stuck together ever since.  Our whole lives we’ve watched, talked about, and criticized movies.  You name it, we’ve watched it, and if we’re not watching a movie, we’re sitting around and quoting them.

After spending years and years of bantering and debating movies amongst ourselves, and driving each other crazy over our respective points of views, we finally decided the only sensible thing to do was to invite the rest of the world into our conversations.

This little blog is the realization of our dream.  To talk about, banter and criticize movies with all our friends, and frankly any one who will give us 5 minutes to listen. Because at the end of the day we’re just a couple of old friends that like talking shit about movies.

Mike –

I’ve been watching movies before I can even remember.  I am one of those people that you hear of from our generation that was on their own at an early age due to single parent household and was raised by the TV.  As far as I can remember I was memorizing every movie, T.V. show/commercial  and movie I saw, but could never tell my Mom what we learned in school that day.

I’ve have a very wide taste in movies.  I love’em all, comedies, dramas, action.  Some of my favorites (just to name a few) are The Godfather I and II (don’t even mention III or I’ll smack the taste out of your mouth), Reservoir Dogs, True Romance, Four Rooms, A Few Good Men, The Breakfast Club, and my all time favorite comedy Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

I guess if someone asked me to sum up what I really felt about movies I would say that it’s too hard to explain, or in the words of the immortal Mr. Bueller, “I mean, really, what’s the point? I’m not European. I don’t plan on being European. So who gives a crap if they’re socialists? They could be fascist anarchists, it still doesn’t change the fact that I don’t own a car. ”

Sara –

I accept the fact that I had to sacrifice a whole Thursday night writing this first blog entry for whatever it is I did wrong.  But I think you’re crazy to want an essay from me introducing myself and telling you who I think I am.  You see me as you want to see me…in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions.  I’m a fan of movies.  I like to burst into random dialog from movies for no good reason.  I like to talk about movies.  I like to argue about movies.  I like to write about movies.  I like to have totally irrational reasons that only make sense to me about why I won’t see a certain movie.  I love everything from low brow cheese to 4-star classics.  But what I think we’re going to find out is that each one of us is a movie fan.  Does that answer your question?

Sincerely yours,
